Purpose

This award honors and recognizes a Physician Associate who exemplifies the mission and values of the LBGT PA Caucus who, within the course of a one-year period, exemplified the PA profession’s philosophy of providing accessible, quality healthcare to all; demonstrated outstanding leadership, advocacy, education, and service in advancing equitable, inclusive, and affirming healthcare for LGTBQ+ individuals and communities.


Mission Alignment

The LBGT PA Caucus is dedicated to promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging within the PA profession and to advocating for evidence-based, affirming healthcare for LGBTQ+ patients. This award honors PAs who embody these principles in their profession and personal contributions.

 

Application Guidelines

  • Nominee must have been a current LBGT PA Caucus member for at least 75% of the nominating year.
  • Nominee may not be current LBGT PA Caucus  Board member (Immediate-Past President, President, Present-Elect, Treasurer, Secretary or Director-at-Large) at the time of nomination. 
  • Self-nomination and peer-nomination are encouraged.  
  • All entries and supporting materials must be submitted by March 1st, 2026 at 11:59PM EST. 
  • Applications will be reviewed by the LBGT PA Caucus board. 
  • The recipient will have celebrated at the annual LBGT PA Caucus Health Equity Reception during the nominating year.
  • The recipient's name and/or photo will be shared publically on the caucus' website, membership email, social media, and other forms of communciation. 
  • If no submission meets the criteria, an awardee will not be selected for that year. 
  • The LBGT PA Caucus  may contact the applicant for additional details or information. 


Grading Criteria

Candidates will be scored on how well during the nominating year, they demonstrated/performed in the following areas:

  • Advocacy & Policy Impact 
  • Leadership & Professional Service
  • Education & Mentorship
  • Clinical Excellence & Patient Advocacy 
  • Community  Engagement & Impact 
  • Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)


Notification 

All submissions will be contacted regarding the status of their submission in April 2026.
